What would you create if you had no limitations in your mind about your ability to create it?

Recently, I forgot myself. I forgot for a moment what is possible and how I have a hand in creating it.

My son, Ben, doesn’t fit into any of the boxes in our education system. He is an intricately wired, complex beautiful soul full of possibility and potential. Unfortunately, there are not many (or any) systems in our education to foster his abilities and unique wiring.

Over the past year, I’ve been slowly embracing this knowing and as I’ve said in other posts, I had to let go of what I thought life had to look like for him and for us when it comes to his learning.

I began to see and experience the beauty in living outside the box of conventional learning environments and seeing the beauty in the parallel of how that mirrors our lives. How not trying to fit into any molds or boxes is so full of freedom and possibility.

It can also feel scary and unknown and like I’m forging an unknown path. This is where I knew as a coach, to reach out for support. I walked my walk and got my own support. I got support for guidance in things where I needed knowledge, but also to just hold up that mirror to remind me who I was…

That who I am is love, light and possibility.

But even then, with that support, there were days that I would forget. I would forget my special assignment that had been given to me. That to know myself and what I was capable of, would also mean doing hard things and trusting big.

And on those days, when it felt hard and impossible to figure out and I didn’t reach out for support, I would begin again to search for a box for Ben to fit into. Another school, another place that could fix this for me, and again, I would come up empty.

So, I am now, after a long session of letting go and remembering, going within, not searching outside myself for answers, but returning to my heart and to spirit, where all the answers lie, if I allow them to be known.

It takes courage. It takes trust. It takes a daily practice of letting go of expectations and societal norms. It takes eyes to see the magic in every non-typical gift that that my son gives me and as they unfold before my eyes and tumble from his being, I am the one that gets to witness the GIFT in this love story.

It requires all of me to be on board.

It requires all of me to believe in his possibility and in my OWN.

To be fully present and fully alive and fully in YOUR passion, you must be ALL IN to what your soul is calling you to, but not be attached to outcome and not give all of yourself away.

No, this will require you be devoted to your own self care and soul care, letting go of what others may think or how others may be doing life, but fully invested in your journey, your soul assignment.

There is a massive difference here and I want all women, no matter if you have a child with extraordinary needs or not, to remember that you have been given a special assignment with your life. It won’t and doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. It’s uniquely yours.

In order to embrace this assignment, here are a few things I can offer you that I live by and offer my own clients.

1. You are never alone. You never have to answer your soul calling and figure out the next right thing by yourself.

2. Stop giving it all away and start giving from the overflow. This requires soul care and getting comfortable with silence. This is where you hear God’s voice.

3. “Clearing the clutter” means releasing old stories that hold you back from your assignment. Clearing internal clutter and creating space around your heart is the most important kind of space. This will also prompt you to clear physical clutter in your environment. 🙂

4. Ask yourself what you would do if there were no limitations that you put on yourself? Without the old stories of how you are not worthy or not enough, who would you be? What would you dare to create?

5. What would you have to let go of to step into your special assignment? Are you willing to let it go?

6. You have a light inside you that may have dimmed and even threatened to go out, but nothing can fully extinguish that light. When you finally shine your light, you will allow others to find you and to shine their light. Don’t deprive others and yourself of who you came here to be.

You can still be in your gifts, love big, show up and shine, but it will require you to remember.

You have been given a special assignment and that requires special care. It requires you to fuel up, awaken to your possibilities and gifts and give from the overflow, not from a half empty cup.

If you do believe you’ve been given a special assignment, that your soul has a calling and you are ready to answer that call, whether you are 21 or 41, or 101, you must be willing to listen to that voice.

You are love. You are magic. You are a creator. Go within, ask for support and shine!

I love you!
